Open Farm Sunday 2013
We were so pleased that so many people came and had a great time - the weather was dry and really sunny in the afternoon.
We think we had a least double the numbers as last year - somewhere between 600-1000 people. On the whole, we coped very well, but there was a bottleneck with the tractor trailer rides, with the queuing system being far from ideal. Whilst we did get better with the queue in the afternoon, there were many children (and adults!) who were disappointed. The feedback we've had so far is that even though there was disappointment, the day was still very enjoyable.
Next year we will be looking carefully at how we sort out the queue, and hopefully we can borrow another trailer for the event. We'll also put on a number of extra farm talks as well!
Thank you so much for coming and making it such a great day!

Open Farm Sunday 2012

In 2012 we participated in our first Open Farm Sunday. We were very lucky with the weather and had an excellent turn out with lots of free activities and informative tours.
Check out Charles going through his farm talk on the video below.
Many moons ago we held quite large Easter and August bank holiday open days and Children's birthday parties - and many old acquaintances were very happy to see a return to open farm events. It is surprising how many people we still meet that have had a party here when they were kids.
We are also hoping to have further seasonal open day events to allow people to see what we do on the farm - so watch this space!
