Youtube Channel
Due to Covid-19, we've had to close the farm to visitors. We have decided to bring our farming life to you, starting with Virtual Lambing Day via the brand new Sandy Lane Farm YouTube Channel. Episodes will be released throughout the week, and we will bring even more insights into growing organic veg and life on the farm. We'd love for you to subscribe and follow our journey. |
BBC Radio 4 Farming Today
Journalist, Charlotte Smith visited us to interview George about the farm's connection with The Archers. Our farm is part of the inspiration behind Bridge Farm's organic veg box scheme so Charlotte & George discusses the similarities (great ethos, ideas & motivation) & differences (money & time?!) between them. The episode aired on Jan 31st 2019. |
Lambing Day 24th March 2019
What a fantastic, sunny day we had. Thanks to all who came to visit our new born lambs - over 1,000 of you! Thanks too, to Nodene (Shand's Cakes), Lesley (Horsebox Coffee), Kevin (BBQ master), the Sandy Lane Farm team & Sue & Charles for their amazing sheep & lamb care & knowledge. |
A visit from BBC Radio 4's The Archers
May 2018 We had a really enjoyable afternoon this week, showing the new editor of the Archers, Jeremy Howe & script advisor, Sarah Swadling around the farm. Very glad to know that The Archers team recognise innovation in organic farming when they see it! |
Oxford Pumpkin Festival October 2017 It has been another successful year for The Good Food Oxford Pumpkin Festival, which teaches residents of Oxfordshire how to avoid wasting their Halloween pumpkins and squashes. As part of the festival, our Harvest Day featured in The Oxford Mail. Thanks to all who visited and went away with one of our delicious squashes or pumpkins. BBC 1 Countryfile at Sandy Lane Farm! We've been on telly! We were privileged to have a visit from John Craven and the Countryfile camera crew. They were absolutely lovely and genuinely interested in the small scale, organic growing that we specialise in. They are welcome back anytime! You can now find the episode on BBC1 iPlayer 7pm Sunday 3rd September 2017: Harvest |
The Oxford Artisan Distillery
As seen on Countryfile, Sandy Lane Farm grows some of the ancient varieties of rye that are being turned into delicious gin & vodka by The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD). We've had a taste and it's tremendous. You can buy it via their website spiritoftoad.com |
